Michael's earliest memories are of music. Instead of playing with 'normal' toys he preferred his parents stereo system. He began messing about with musical instruments around the age of 4.
A relative latecomer to the world of film and media music, Michael is an accomplished guitarist, having spent years performing in his own bands.
Although growing up primarily on a steady diet of heavy metal and rock, Michael was always very much attracted to many other styles of music. Aged 10 he fell in love with Jeff Wayne's 'War Of The Worlds'. He later became interested in film music after hearing Wojciech Kilar's score to 'Bram Stoker's Dracula', and Vangelis's '1492'.
Michael has now composed for features and shorts, TV, radio, games, advertising, and corporate ventures. His music is licensed worldwide for theater, television, film, advertising, corporate branding, documentaries, iPhone apps, web and multimedia applications.
Michael's film music influences range from golden age composers like Erich Wolfgang Korngold and Max Steiner, to legends Bernard Herrmann, Jerry Goldsmith and John Williams, through to contemporaries such as Ed Shearmur, Frederic Talgorn, Christopher Young, John Debney, Don Davis, Gabriel Yared, Hans Zimmer and too many more to mention ...
