ABOUT

Michael's earliest memories are of music - instead of playing with 'normal' toys he preferred his parent's stereo system. He began playing musical instruments around the age 4 and hasn't stopped since. A relative latecomer to the world of film and production music, he is also known for his virtuosic guitar skills, having spent many years performing in his own bands.

"AUDIO ARCHITECT is a way of pursuing my passion for all kinds of musical styles and interests whether it's the role music can play in enhancing a visual narrative or just music for its own sake. You don't normally get to do that just playing in a band. Besides, I'm interested in in the lot - composition, recording, mixing, production, - the whole gamut. Bring it on."

LET'S HEAR WHAT THE CLIENTS AND OTHERS HAVE TO SAY ABOUT MICHAEL'S WORK ...

" ... a VERY fine composer and should be scoring 'A' pictures. Excellent!"

~ William T. Stromberg, composer & orchestrator - LEGALLY BLONDE, STARSHIP TROOPERS 2, TRINITY AND BEYOND.

"It frequently happens that a film director will use the same composer film after film. That’s because finding the right person for the job, especially on a tight budget, is not always easy. I’ve worked with Michael on two psychological horror films now, a short and a feature film, and his incredible talent, creativity, and easy going personality is integral to both the success of these films and our excellent working relationship. To this day, the music score for Family Demons continues to captivate and astound me."

~ Ursula Dabrowsky, writer / director - SAYLAVEE PRODUCTIONS Pty Ltd

"Michael Taylor has produced one of the great scores of Australian dark genre cinema, it's simply sensational. The mood is eerie, creepy, and haunted house chill ..."

"My first initial direction to Michael regarding the Twin Rivers score was to make it memorable. I wanted a score that not only complimented the film's imagery and emotions, but one that was filled with strong melodies that would linger in the mind of the viewer long after the film was over. Although Twin Rivers required a relatively traditional 'period drama' score, I did not want it to fall victim to overly melodramatic cliches that so often hamper the genre.

Michael has delivered all I asked for and more in an undeniably captivating score, all the more impressive considering Twin Rivers marks his feature film debut as a composer."

~ Matthew Holmes, writer / director / producer / editor - TWO TONE PICTURES

"Astounding stuff! The finished product synced perfectly with the visuals and added a whole new dimension to the animation. Michael delivered on time, in budget and I swear he has a full orchestra and choir hiding somewhere. I'm using him again, no question."

~ Chris Blythe, Studio Manager - Shattered Frames
